Nevada’s Health Insurance Marketplace

The Silver State Health Insurance Exchange Nevada Health Link

What is the website for Nevada’s new online health insurance marketplace?

On June 16, 2011, Nevada’s Governor Brian Sandoval signed SB 440 into law establishing the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange. In March 2013, the state announced that the online consumer marketplace would be called Nevada Health Link and in June the Silver State Exchange launched the website.

Will coverage and premiums be the same statewide?

Many insurers have chosen to only offer coverage in certain regions of the state; the number of plan options will vary by region.

Nevada has been divided into four geographic rating areas and insurance premiums can vary in each of these regions. The various regions of the state have different health care costs and so the rating areas are used to help determine insurance premiums.
