ACA leads to increased interest in private exchanges

While private health insurance exchanges are nothing new, the Affordable Care Act’s public health insurance marketplace has brought attention to the private exchange market.

According to an article from Benefits Pro, Private exchanges get a boost from federal launch, the number of new private exchanges has increased as of late. “Private exchanges have been on the radar of the large employers the last couple of years,”  said Michael Christie, senior vice president at Aon Hewit. “What we’re seeing in relation to the public exchanges in an increased level of seriousness, of awareness and strategic, thoughtful consideration on the part of non-human resources corporate leadership in the area of benefits.”
